Taxfix 2026 Update (formerly TaxScouts)

SPECIAL LINKS * PARTIAL LINKS.
Having worked for myself for most of my working life, there is one time of the year I always dread tax time! In this Taxfix review we take a look at this online tax return submission service to see what they have to offer.
Who is Taxfix?
Taxfix (formerly known as TaxScouts) launched in the UK in 2018 with their online tax return service. In 2019 with a round of investment to support and grow their business. After seeing great success in Europe in 2021 they also launched a tax advisory service.
Who can use Taxfix?
Taxfix is proud to offer their services to a wide range of potential clients. These include the self-employed, home owners, investors, crypto traders, high earners and expats. They now offer tax refund submissions for limited companies too.
What does Taxfix offer?
Taxfix offers two main features in their service, these are tax return submission and tax advice. You can choose to use one of these services or bundle them both together at a discounted price.
It is worth mentioning here that the tax return submission service offered by Taxfix comes with a dedicated accountant. You can ask your accountant any questions via the built-in messaging service. They will usually get back to you within a few days.
If you choose to pay for their tax advice service, you will receive a 1 on 1 video appointment or phone appointment with a qualified financial professional. This will allow you to get any advice you may need in real time and discuss your options quickly.
Taxfix says their service is simple, fast and internet-based. You will be paired with a certified accountant to help you with any questions you may have. The entire process of filing your tax returns can be completed within 48 hours.
Free Bookkeeping Tools
Another feature I found interesting while using the Taxfix platform was the internal bookkeeping tools offered. This is free to use and includes features that are usually only available with paid online bookkeeping services. Includes the ability to create invoices or scan and upload/edit receipts. You can also link a bank account to help you easily see and enter business transactions. These tools can be very useful in helping you track your income and expenses.
What Taxfix doesn’t offer
It is important to mention here that – while Taxfix offers free accounting tools to help you track your income and expenses – it is not a bookkeeping service. You will still be responsible for uploading your income and expenses. This is so that your qualified accountant has the correct figures to submit to HMRC on your behalf.
For high earners who want to use the service just to submit returns, you will need to upload documents like p60 or other investment related documents etc. to show all annual income.

Taxfix review
While we hope this Taxfix review has given you more insight into what the company offers and how much the service costs, you may be wondering if Taxfix really delivers what they say it does? With this it can be helpful to see what others are saying about the company.
On Trustpilot it is encouraging to see that Taxfix has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars. This rating is based on a rigorous selection of nearly 5,000 Taxfix reviews. 92% of these reviews received a full 5 stars.
It’s good to see that any negative reviews were usually answered directly by the company. I like to see this as I feel it shows the company’s care when users – for whatever reason – are not happy with their experience. Most of the negative reviews seem to relate to the speed of the accountant’s responses to questions when using the Tax Return service. Although this does not appear to be a common issue, it may be resolved by choosing to pay for a Tax Advisory service. This includes live 1 on 1 video or phone consultations.
The conclusion
If you’re struggling with the process of filing your tax return and don’t have your own accountant, then Taxfix may be worth considering. Having a chartered accountant on hand that you can reach out to for support can be very helpful. The price is competitive compared to hiring a regular accountant. Positive reviews – and their success so far – will also show that the company is doing something right in helping its users submit accurate tax returns on time!
