A few months ago, I discovered Misfits Market through a friend.
I had read many reviews and was curious, so I finally decided to try it… I was so happy!
Everything was brand new and delivered to my house in two days. Some products were odd or the size, but I don’t care. And almost everything was something I could have bought at the store anyway.
I was stuck after my first box as I knew I couldn’t get that much produce in the store at such a great price – especially since it was organic.
I decided to continue my subscription, knowing that we can cancel at any time.
What is Misfits Market?
The Misfits Market is an online grocery store that offers organic produce, high-quality meat and seafood, and other sustainably sourced foods at up to 40% below grocery store prices.
They sell items in stores that won’t fit on their shelves (usually because the products are too small, too big, or “ugly”) and deliver them directly to your door in a few days.
Misfits Market vs. Imperfect Foods
There are many similar companies popping up all over the country – two of the most popular are Misfits Market and Imperfect Foods.
Imperfect Foods has a wide variety of items to choose from, but Misfits Market offers all organic products (unlike Imperfect Foods).
Both companies are free to register. Misfits Market has a $30 minimum order, Imperfect Foods has NO minimum order.
Misfits Market boxes cost $35 or $40. Imperfect Foods has several box options from $15 – $40.
Misfits Market delivers to the lower 48 states for a $7 delivery fee, while Imperfect Foods delivers to “most major US cities” for a $6 delivery fee.
Both companies have excellent customer service and the intent of both is excellent – it just comes down to what you like and maybe where you live!

Aside from meat, produce is often the most expensive commodity for many families.
If you’re trying to make sure your family has a good variety of fruits and vegetables, you can start adding up the costs. And if not everything is in season, the prices of imported produce that are out of season are very high!
My family has favorite vegetables and fruits that I always pick up at Aldi, and while Aldi has some of the best prices on organic produce, their out-of-season produce doesn’t taste very good.

Buying a product can be very difficult.

Misfits Market Review: Changing Our New Favorite Product
When my first box of Misfits Market arrived, everything looked like something we would eat, except for the eggplant.
I have only eaten eggplant a few times in my life. It was smooth and rough, but I was willing to give it a try. I found this great recipe for fried eggplant, and that changed everything. The first night we tried it, we ran out of eggplant instead of chicken, and my kids were asking for more!
We are hit on our hands.
The next box contained swiss chard and more eggplant. We also made baked potatoes, and grilled swiss chard with gnocchi. Yum!
Again, the new thing had a big impact on our family.
When our third box arrived, my six-year-old said, “Oh, goodie, I hope there’s eggplant.” To his dismay there was no eggplant, but we found out how much we loved pomegranates!

Thanks to Misfits Market, I no longer make trips to the grocery store during checkout, which saves our family a lot of money!
Not only did Misfits Market save me time and money at the grocery store, it also pushed me to expand my cooking skills and our kids’ taste buds.
